Creative documentaries of any length completed after 1 April 2005 are still eligible for IDFA 2005. There is no fee required for entry.

  In total, IDFA programmes some 200 documentaries, divided among more than ten festival programmes. The festival has three competition programmes. Apart from these competitions, IDFA presents five regular programme sections that recur annually, complemented by special sections. These special programmes focus on specific countries, directors and/or themes.

  During IDFA, Docs for Sale takes place. Docs for Sale is a marketplace where sellers offer creative documentaries to buyers. Entry is possible by means of a separate Docs for Sale entry form. The deadline for Docs For Sale is 1 October 2005.

  You can enter your documentary by sending two VHS cassettes or two DVDs with a completed IDFA entry form and all required information. This form is available online as of 1 February 2005. The entry form also consists of a checklist with all information needed before the film can be taken into consideration.

  Documentaries completed after 1 April 2005 must be received by 10 August 2005. We would greatly appreciate it if you enter your documentary as early as possible.

  Films and videos can only be shown at the festival if they have English commentary and/or English dialogue, or are in their original versions with English subtitles.

  IDFA accepts the following screening formats: 16mm and 35mm, Betacam SP PAL and Digibeta PAL. Presentation of other formats and video systems requires the authorisation of the Festival.

  If the documentary does not meet all the requirements mentioned above, it will not be eligible for selection.
