The European Film Academy (EFA), United International Pictures and the Cracow Film Festival congratulate the winner of the
PRIX UIP CRACOW 2005
TOZ (DUST)
The Prix UIP is an initiative by UIP and the European Film Academy in co-operation with twelve festivals throughout Europe. The prize includes a financial donation of EUR 2,000 and an automatic nomination in the short film category of the European Film Awards 2005. The winning film which was selected by the International Jury tells the story about two young people who lead an ordinary existence in a small apartment: they read, watch television, and dream of travelling abroad. Their life is torn by a violent quarrel, whose causes and consequences both remain unclear. The camera looks in on their daily life, but the dust that fills the air prevents close observation TOZ joins six other nominations that were already selected:

FALLING by Holger Ernst (Germany) at the Valladolid International Film
Festival, FLATLIFE by Jonas Geirnaert at the Premiers Plans - Festival
d’Angers, HOI MAYA by Claudia Lorenz (Switzerland) at the Berlin
International Fim Festival, and UNDRESSING MY MOTHER by Ken Wardrop
The remaining nominees will be selected in co-operation with Norwegian
Short Film Festival Grimstad (Norway), International Short Film
Festival Vila do Conde (Portugal), Sarajevo Film Festival
