International Short Film Festival in Drama

Call for short films

The 11th International Short Film Festival in Drama will be held in the city of Drama, in Northern Greece. Events held during this period will include the 28th Greek Short Film Festival, the 11th International Short Film Festival and other sidebar events.

  The Festival aims to promote and propagate the production of short films and to develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation among filmmakers from all over the world.

  Fiction, documentary and animation short films may participate, as long as:
  Their production was completed after January 1, 2004.   They were shot in 35mm or 16mm format.   Their running time does not exceed 35 minutes.   (The Festival Committee reserves the right to accept longer running films in special cases.)
  Only one film per participant will be accepted.   Each participant should fill in and sign the entry form. In the event that the entry form is filled in and sent by e-mail, the director or producer must also send a signed copy by mail.

  Applications should reach the Festival premises by May 30, 2005 at the latest and should include:
  An entry form filled in and signed by both the producer and the director.
  At least one photograph from the film.   At least one photograph of the director.   A printed copy of the film's complete dialog in English or French.   A VHS video cassette copy of the film.   Filmography and Biography of the director.   The Festival Committee would like to keep the video cassettes of films submitted for selection for its archives and invites film representatives to give their permission for this in the entry forms.

  If permission is not given, the video cassettes will be returned to the address specified on the entry form after viewing.

  The Jury of the Festival consists of 5 members at least and is appointed to award the following four prizes:   THE GRAND PRIX PRIZE € 2,950
  SECOND PRIZE € 2,350
  BEST BALKAN FILM AWARD € 2,350
  BEST ANIMATION FILM AWARD € 1,470   The official jury may also award other honorary distinctions for specific artistic achievements. Each prize is awarded to one single film and cannot be awarded ex aequo.
